Liverpool Hope University is a unique university with a rich history dating back to 1844. They are blessed with beautiful campuses with stunning grounds and a combination of modern and traditional architecture.Liverpool Hope University is a university in Liverpool, England. Two of its three founding colleges were established in 1844 and 1856, the third opening in the 1960s. It is the only ecumenical university in Europe.[4] The university has two campuses. The main campus, Hope Park, is located in Childwall and the second campus, The Creative Campus, is located in Everton. The university attracts students from some 65 countries worldwide.

The university's academic organisation is divided into three main faculties:

  • The Faculty of Arts and Humanities The faculty covers creative and performing arts – Music, Art, Design, Drama, Theatre Studies, Dance mainly based at Hope's Creative campus – as well as Media, English, History, Politics, Theology and Religious Studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • The Education Faculty includes all Initial Teacher Training programmes, Disability Studies, Education Studies and Early Childhood Studies as well as a range of Foundation Degrees, Masters and CPD courses. There is a growing research culture within the Deanery.



Their taught Masters courses offer students choice and flexibility, and the opportunity to study in a vibrant, supportive academic environment. The courses are underpinned by the research and scholarly activity which takes place at Liverpool Hope and teaching is driven by staff expertise.There are a number of research areas of national and international excellence at Liverpool Hope, with some of our research classified as ‘world-leading’ in the national Research Assessment Exercise.

Research at Liverpool Hope University takes place across the range of disciplines - in humanities, sciences and social sciences, education, liberal arts, business and computer science. There are a number of research areas of national and international excellence at Hope. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), work assessed in the categories of Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies and Social Work and Social Policy & Administration and was described as showing ‘Quality that is world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour’. A number of submissions from Hope Departments were assessed as ‘...internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour’, including work in the following areas - Computer Science and Informatics, Psychology, Education, English Language and Literature and Music.

The cost of a postgraduate degree varies by course, but all our subjects are banded into three groups and the full time price of the course is dependent on what group your subject falls into. For full details, visit the Tuition Fees section of their website.

If you are a home student who is studying part-time, we invoice half the full time fee on registration for the first year of your course and the balance is invoiced when you register for the second year.

Liverpool Hope offers scholarships as a reward for academic excellence.

  • £500 for students with a 1st in their undergraduate degree
  • £500 for students with a 2:1 in their undergraduate degree
